can a blog be used to market products, as a website is used?
I will like to know if a blog can be used for home business marketing, and how can this be done.

Yes.
A blog can be used to engage your customers more into your product and allow customer interaction and comments about the product. It can be a tool to bring a human personality to a faceless company. The main purpose of a blog in marketing is to create deeper customer loyalty and generate customer feedback.
But if you think that just by creating a blog that you are already marketing your business, think again. A blog in and by in itself is not a marketing tool. For one, creating a blog means ADDITIONAL work — just because you created a blog does not mean that people are going to flock to your blog.
You need to work hard to get traffic to it; to get it some readership. And that will not be easy. So now you will be working on getting traffic to two things — your website and your blog.

Yes, a blog can be used to market products but much diffrently than a website. A website is a direct selling or agenting tool that resembles a store and street market just not in the physical sense.
A blog, however, could be used much more effectively in a variety of ways. For consulting on this issue at a reasonable rate ($20 an hour, most case take roughly 3 hours of consulting) please email teheibein@mta.ca

In short, a blog can be used to market products, services, and your business. However, it’s more than putting up a storefront. You must be able to passionately describe the features, benefits, and maybe even the downsides and answer criticisms openly and honestly. You can even test market the product to gauge interest, but skip the hard sell or you can be flamed by the blogosphere.
